How to use fill effects and change the background colour in Microsoft Word.

To make your document stand out and look better it is a good idea to add a background.

To do this is simple all you need to do is first is click on "Page Layout" and then from there click on "Fill Effects".

Now you are able to choose the pattern, the colour and how many colours you want together to make up your background, after you have chosen just simply click "Ok" to apply this to your document.

Bearing in mind the background will not apply if the work has to be printed so to add a background which will apply on screen as well as printed you will need to add a shape and simply fill it with colour. To do this just simply click on "Insert" and then "Add Shape".

Once the shape has been added you can now double click on the shape and from here change the colour of the filled effects to create your desired background.

Below is a screenprint of what the document looks like after the "fill effects" has been applied.
